Support Children’s Mental Health

Help create a brighter, more healing space for children

Friends of Children’s Hospital has committed $1.5 million to help renovate the Children’s Acute Inpatient Psychiatric Unit at Children’s of Mississippi. This important project will create a more supportive, healing environment for children receiving psychiatric care.

Why This Matters

For children facing serious emotional and psychiatric challenges, the right care environment matters. The Children’s Acute Inpatient Psychiatric Unit is Mississippi’s only pediatric hospital-based mental health treatment program. The 12-bed unit provides short-term care for children ages 4 to 12 who are experiencing significant emotional and psychiatric needs.

As children’s mental health needs continue to grow, this unit remains an essential resource for families across Mississippi. Your gift will help create a space that supports comfort, stability, dignity, and recovery for children during some of their hardest days.

Through this project, Friends is helping ensure the space around these children reflects the quality and compassion of the care being provided inside it.
