Century Club Charities presented a check to Friends of Children’s Hospital Tuesday, January 31 for $1 million from proceeds of the 2022 Sanderson Farms Championship.
A celebration was held at Children’s of Mississippi where Century Club Charities unveiled the seven-figure donation benefiting Mississippi’s only children’s hospital. Dozens of people from Friends of Children’s Hospital, Wayne-Sanderson Farms, Children’s of Mississippi, and University of Mississippi Medical Center gathered to recognize and celebrate the dedication and impact Century Club Charities has provided to Mississippi’s children through its leadership of Sanderson Farms Championship for more than a decade.
It takes an enormous effort to organize Mississippi’s only PGA TOUR event, and Century Club Charities’ tireless hard work, determination and altruism have proven–time and time again–to be an absolute success. Today’s donation will go a long way toward improving the health of the hundreds of thousands of children who seek care at Children’s of Mississippi annually.
“Our partnership with Century Club over the last 10 years has accelerated our ability to respond to and support Children’s of Mississippi,” said John Scarbrough, Friends of Children’s Hospital Chairman. “We remain incredibly grateful to Steve Jent and his team for their benevolence.”
Century Club Charities, the host organization of Mississippi’s PGA TOUR event–Sanderson Farms Championship–has a twofold mission of promoting the game of golf while fundraising for charitable causes. Friends of Children’s Hospital is the organization’s primary beneficiary. Since Sanderson Farms, Inc., now known as Wayne-Sanderson Farms, became the Title Sponsor in 2013, the tournament and Century Club Charities has contributed over $15.7 million to Friends of Children’s Hospital and other Mississippi charities.
On behalf of the 220,000 children who receive care annually at Children’s of Mississippi, THANK YOU for your friendship and support!
