Friends of Children’s Hospital launched a fundraising campaign at the 2025 Governor’s Cup, successfully raising $7,199 in 7 innings. Ole Miss and Mississippi State fans competed to see which fanbase could fundraise the most for the state’s only children’s hospital. Ole Miss won the fundraising initiative, collecting $4,068!

To kick off the baseball game and fundraising efforts, Brooks Boyer, a Children’s of Mississippi patient, threw the first pitch of the game. In 20222, Brooks suffered a traumatic injury to his face and was treated by a team of doctors and surgeons at Children’s of Mississippi. Today, he’s a 1st grader at Madison Ridgeland Academy and plays baseball for Knights Knation. Thank you for representing Friends of Children’s Hospital, Brooks!

It was a fun night enjoying baseball and fundraising for our state’s only children’s hospital! Until Ole Miss and Mississippi State face off again in baseball, we’re keeping the competition going!
