Friends of Children’s Hospital hosted Tailgating with Friends on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Children’s of Mississippi. It was an exciting day for patient and their families as we enjoyed appearances from Seymour (Southern Miss), Sonny (Jackson State University), and Bully (Mississippi State University.) Cheerleaders from Southern Miss and football players from Jackson State interacted with patients, while volunteers prepared and served fresh popcorn and cotton candy. Patients received goodie bags and pom poms and had a blast meeting and taking pictures with their favorite mascots.
Friends would like to thank our setup volunteers from PediCare Nursing as well as our event volunteers from Renasant Bank. It is such a joy and honor to create opportunities for patients to have a special, fun time while visiting the children’s hospital.
