Comcast Named Title Sponsor for Friends Golf Tournament

Friends of Children’s Hospital is thrilled to announce Comcast as the Title Sponsor for the upcoming 31st Annual Friends of Children’s Hospital Golf Tournament, set to take place on October 28, 2024.

Child Life Specialists at Children’s of Mississippi ease patients’ hospital experiences with therapeutic activities and compassionate care.

Since 1993, the Friends of Children’s Hospital Golf Tournament has been a critical fundraiser for the Child Life Services program at Children’s of Mississippi, raising over $3.2 million. These funds have been crucial in providing comprehensive support to pediatric patients, helping them cope with the challenges of hospitalization through therapeutic play, education, and emotional support.

As the Title Sponsor, Comcast’s contribution will play an essential role in the continuity and expansion of these vital services. Caitlin Foreman, Executive Director of Friends of Children’s Hospital, expressed her enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “Comcast’s sponsorship is not just a financial boost but a strong message of commitment to the health and wellbeing of Mississippi’s children. Their support allows us to expand our reach and enhance the quality of care that children and their families receive during their most vulnerable times.”

Comcast is committed to creating positive community impact and fostering meaningful connections across the regions it serves. For 11 consecutive years, Comcast has been recognized by Points of Light, the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service, as one of the 50 most community-minded companies in the United States. This sponsorship is part of their broader effort to support and improve quality of life for local communities.

Pamela Pickett, Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs, at Comcast, shared, “In an ever-connected world, Comcast continually strives to strengthen the communities where our employees and customers call home. We are honored to partner with Friends of Children’s Hospital and are committed to their mission of supporting the health and future of young lives in Mississippi.”

Nearly 400 golfers from across central and southern Mississippi are expected to participate in the tournament, playing simultaneously at Annandale Golf Club, Canebrake Country Club, Country Club of Jackson, and Reunion Golf and Country Club.
