Since 2005, Mississippi drivers have supported the state’s only children’s hospital by purchasing the Friends of Children’s Hospital car tag. More than $5 million has been raised for Children’s of Mississippi as part of the Friends of Children’s Hospital car tag program. For the first time since the program began, a new car tag design has been launched.
The new tag design features the same well-known sunshine and rainbows logo synonymous with both the nonprofit organization and the children’s hospital; however, the new tag design sports a unique, bright blue background. The new blue car tag design is available for purchase at all local tax collector’s offices in Mississippi. Drivers purchase the car tag for an additional $51, and Friends of Children’s Hospital receives $44 from each car tag sold.
“For most of us, purchasing a car tag is just another task associated with owning a vehicle,” said Caitlin Foreman, Executive Director of Friends of Children’s Hospital. “Many Mississippians are unaware of the impact they can make in the lives of Mississippi kids by simply choosing the Friends of Children’s Hospital car tag.”
We hope you’ll keep an eye out for the new, bright blue car tag and consider the Friends of Children’s Hospital car tag next time your car’s tag is up for renewal!
