Our 8th year going Over The Edge was a wonderful time on Thursday, May 2nd! More than 30 edgers rappelled from the jaw-dropping 22 story Regions Plaza rooftop, landing below at a food truck frenzy! Friends of Children’s Hospital would like to thank our edgers, sponsors, volunteers, and vendors for helping to make this unique event a special and exciting day!

Miss Mississippi, Vivian O’Neal, rappelled as part of her campaign to raise awareness and promote fundraising for children in need. WJTV Channel 12 News Reporter, Blake Levine, went over the edge live at the noon news hour show! Members of the Friends staff, Caitlin Foreman and Blair Gunter, rappelled together, as well as board member, Jordan Bryan. We were pleased to welcome several rappelling teams as well including Aplos, PediCare, and Keepin’ It Renal! Many of our event sponsors sent multiple rappellers over the edge, too. Thank you to everyone who took the plunge and decided to be brave for kids!

Friends would like to thank our friends and partners at Hertz Jackson for the use of their beautiful, tall building for this event! Our team from Over The Edge Global was incredible-thank you guys for ensuring our participants had a safe and wonderful rappel. The Mississippi Army National Guard provided an amazing group to serve as our rope volunteers, and we truly couldn’t have completed our event without their help. We would also like to thank the following sponsors, vendors, and partners!

Friends would like to thank Gotta Go Site Service Rentals and Alpha Tent for their help in setting up our lunch area, as well as the Patrick Harkins band for playing for us during lunchtime! To everyone who came down from the surrounding office area to visit the food trucks and watch our edgers, thank you! We enjoyed tacos from Green Ghost Tacos, sweet treats from The Frosty Freeze, pizza from Lost Pizza Co., and barbecue nachos from Grills of Mississippi.
